Akatisti – Zbornik akatista na Hristove i Bogorodične praznike (Akathists for the Feasts of the Lord and the Mother of God)
The akathist is one of the most beautiful hymns of praise of the Orthodox Church – a prayer sung or read standing, at home as well as in church. This collection brings together twenty akathists for the great feasts of the Lord Isus Hristos and the All-Holy Mother of God, so that one can accompany the whole church year in prayer.
It contains akathists to the Presveta Trojica, for Božić, Bogojavljenje, Sretenje, Vrbica, to the Passion of the Lord, to the life-giving Tomb and the Resurrection (three akathists for Vaskrs), for Spasovdan, Preobraženje, to the Precious Cross, to the Image Not Made by Hands and to the Most Sweet Lord Isus Hristos, as well as the thanksgiving akathist Slava Bogu za sve. Five akathists are dedicated to the Presveta Bogorodica: for Mala Gospojina, Vavedenje, Blagovesti, Pokrov and Velika Gospojina. The collection was compiled by jeromonah Jovan (Jelenkov, 1958–2020) and appears in 2026 as the fourth volume of the Razgovori o veri series of the Zadužbina Episkopa Antonija (Pantelića).
A prayer book for every Orthodox home – for personal prayer on feast days or as a gift for a baptism, name day or Slava.
