Nikola Tesla i crni mačak (Nikola Tesla and the Black Cat)

Nikola Tesla and the Black Cat (Nikola Tesla und der schwarze Kater)

Before Nikola Tesla changed the world with alternating current, he was a curious boy in Smiljan – and one evening, as he stroked his black cat, Mačak, sparks flew through its fur. This encounter with the mysterious force of electricity shaped his upbringing and his entire life. Slobodan Stanišić tells this childhood story of the great Serbian inventor warmly and excitingly for young readers.

The hardcover edition from the Pčelica series Detinjstvo srpske nauke (Childhood of Serbian Science) comprises 47 pages in Serbian (Cyrillic script), with illustrations by Igor Krstić. The series introduces children to the great Serbian scientists – from their childhood, in which their curiosity and perseverance were already evident.

A gift for curious children – for reading aloud, for practicing Cyrillic reading, and to show them what great minds have emerged from their people.
