Presveta Bogorodica – Biblioteka Slava (The Most Holy Mother of God)
For two thousand years, believers all over the world have addressed their most heartfelt prayers to the Presveta Bogorodica, the pure and humble Virgin who was found worthy to become the Mother of the Son of God. Many of her icons are regarded as wonder-working and help those who turn to her with their petitions. The Gospels say little about her life, yet the tradition of the Church has preserved many writings that describe it in detail.
This volume of the Slava series by Deacon Nenad Ilić and Anastasija Ilić tells the most important events from the life of the Presveta Bogorodica and shows how the Church honours her. It is the companion to the volume Gospod Isus Hristos of the same series. The book was reviewed by Vladika Jovan (Purić). Numerous images of icons and frescoes accompany the text in Serbian (Cyrillic script). This second edition by the Belgrade publisher Škola plus is a large-format hardcover, 21 × 27 cm, with gold embossing.
A book for everyone who wishes to come to know the Mother of God more closely – for a home library or as a gift for Slava, baptism, a wedding or the feasts of the Bogorodica such as Mala Gospojina, Vavedenje and Velika Gospojina.
