Jerina Branković, the wife of the Serbian despot Đurađ Branković, came from the Greek Kantakuzin family and is one of the most controversial female figures in Serbian history. This book, written for children, tells how Jerina oversaw the construction of the mighty fortress city of Smederevo and why she was nicknamed Prokleta Jerina in folklore.
