Slava Candle Made of Beeswax with Saint Image – 42 × 2.5 cm
This slender Slava candle bears the image of Isus Hristos, the Bogorodica (Mother of God) or one of the saints celebrated as Slava in Serbian families – from Sveti Nikola and Sveti Aranđel Mihailo to Sveta Petka, Sveti Georgije and Sveti Sava. Choose the candle with the saint your family honours as its patron.
Each candle is handmade from beeswax and measures 42 cm in length with a diameter of 2.5 cm. We print the image of the saint on fine tissue paper and melt it into the wax surface with heat, so that it is firmly bonded to the candle.
The Slavska sveća (Slava candle) is lit on the day of the Slava and burns throughout the feast beside the Slavski kolač (Slava bread) and the Koljivo (boiled wheat). With its 2.5 cm diameter it fits our flower decoration for Slava candles. It also accompanies prayer at home and church feast days, and makes a meaningful gift for a Slava.
