Stari zanati – Traditional Serbian Crafts

Traditional crafts tell the story of a people in a very special way. Over generations, knowledge, skills, and craftsmanship have been passed down within families and communities. Many of these ancient professions have shaped daily life in Serbia and are now a valuable part of our cultural heritage.

The children's booklet "Стари занати" from the series "Упознајмо српску традицију" introduces children to traditional Serbian crafts and their products in an understandable and vivid way. With simple texts and authentic illustrations, young readers discover how people used to work and the importance of crafts in daily life.

Children learn about various old crafts, their tools, and the products created from them. Marina Veselinović's lovingly designed illustrations bring traditional activities to life and help young readers easily understand the individual professions and working methods.

The booklet is part of the Pčelica series "Upoznajmo srpsku tradiciju," which introduces children to different aspects of Serbian culture and tradition. This makes "Stari zanati" particularly suitable for families who want to impart knowledge about their heritage to their children and show them how previous generations lived and worked in Serbia.

Especially for Serbian families in the diaspora, the booklet offers a wonderful opportunity to familiarize children with the culture and traditions of their ancestors. At the same time, the text, written entirely in Serbian Cyrillic script, supports reading and understanding of the Serbian language.

With 36 pages and a format of 21.8 × 25.6 cm, the booklet is specifically designed for younger school children aged approximately 7 to 10 years. The combination of short texts and numerous illustrations makes it a varied introduction to the world of traditional Serbian crafts.
