Sveta Petka – Biblioteka Slava (Life and Slava of Saint Petka)

Sveta Petka – Biblioteka Slava (Life and Slava of Saint Petka)

Sveta Petka, the Venerable Mother Paraskeva, lived in the 11th century and is among the most venerated saints of the Serbian people. Countless faithful turn to her with their worries and petitions, and Petkovdan on 27 October is celebrated as the Krsna slava of many Serbian families.

This volume of the Slava series by Deacon Nenad Ilić and Anastasija Ilić tells the Žitije (life) and the Slava of the prepodobna mati Paraskeva-Petka: her life of prayer and self-denial, the veneration of her relics and the miracles preserved in the tradition of the Church. It also explains how Sveta Petka is celebrated as a Slava. Numerous illustrations accompany the text in Serbian (Cyrillic script). The book is published by the Belgrade publisher Škola plus as a large-format hardcover, 21 × 27 cm.

A book for every home that celebrates Sveta Petka as its Slava – for reading aloud to children, for your own library, or as a gift for hosts and kumovi on Petkovdan.
