Svetazvezda Baby & Kids Brojanica Pletena (hand-knotted)

For centuries, Brojanica have accompanied Orthodox Christians in prayer and daily life. A Brojanica can also be a special sign of faith and connection to the Serbian Orthodox tradition for the little ones.

The Svetazvezda Baby & Kids Brojanica Pletena is hand-knotted near the Ravanica Monastery in Ćuprija by the Maksimović family. With great devotion, patience, and deep respect for the Serbian Orthodox faith, this wonderful family crafts traditional Brojanica using ancient methods, thereby preserving an important piece of our tradition.

Each Brojanica consists of 33 hand-knotted knots, commemorating the 33 years of life of our Lord Jesus Christ. The meaning behind each individual knot is particularly valuable. While knotting, each knot is tied with a prayer or a good wish for the child. This creates a special Brojanica, imbued with good thoughts, prayers, and wishes from the very beginning.

With a diameter of approximately 3 cm when unstretched, this variant is specially made for babies and children. Like our classic Brojanica, it is also stretchable and thus adapts to the wrist. Its flexible design allows it to accompany the child for an extended period.

After knotting, the Brojanica is carefully rolled with a wooden element. This traditional step ensures that the knots become particularly firm, even, and durable.

Through our direct collaboration with the Maksimović family, we can ensure that every Brojanica genuinely comes from Serbia and is made according to traditional methods. Each individual Brojanica represents authentic Serbian Orthodox craftsmanship and the transmission of a tradition from generation to generation.

With every purchase, you support the wonderful Maksimović family, who crafts these Brojanica with great love for faith, tradition, and craftsmanship. Thus, you not only receive a special Brojanica for your child but also help preserve a valuable piece of Serbian Orthodox culture, family tradition, and craftsmanship for future generations.
