Sveti Sava – Biblioteka Slava (Life and Slava of Saint Sava)

Sveti Sava – Biblioteka Slava (Life and Slava of Saint Sava)

Sveti Sava (1174–1235), son of Stefan Nemanja, left his father's court as a young prince, became a monk on Mount Athos and founded the Hilandar Monastery together with his father. As the first archbishop of the autocephalous Serbian Church, he became the teacher and enlightener of his people. Savindan on 27 January is the Slava of schools and of many Serbian families.

This volume of the Slava series by Deacon Nenad Ilić and Anastasija Ilić tells the Žitije (life) and the Slava of Saint Sava, the first Serbian archbishop, and explains how Savindan is celebrated as a Slava. The illustrations by Deacon Nenad Ilić accompany the text in Serbian (Cyrillic script). This second edition from the Belgrade publisher Škola plus is a large-format hardcover, 21 × 27 cm.

A book for every Serbian home – for reading aloud to children, for your own library, or as a gift on Savindan and for all who celebrate Sveti Sava as their Slava.
