The tray is engraved with the name of the saint your family celebrates as its Slava: Sveti Nikola, Sveti Aranđel Mihailo, Sveti Georgije, Sveti Jovan, Sveta Petka, Sveti Sava, Sveti Stefan, Sveti Luka, Sveti Ilija or Sveti Vasilije Ostroški. The name is written in Cyrillic script between two crosses.

The tray is made of beech wood, depending on the piece as glued laminated beech. Natural colour variations such as the darker heartwood of the beech are part of the wood. A large recess with a diameter of 12 cm, two smaller recesses of 8.3 cm diameter each and a 3 cm wide groove are milled into the surface. A handle at each end makes it easy to carry.

The Tacna (tray) is made for serving Žito (Koljivo, wheat dish) at the Slava. The bowl of Žito goes into the large recess, the glass of red wine into one of the smaller recesses and a container for the used spoons, usually a glass of water, into the other. The clean spoons lie ready in the groove, so every new guest can take a fresh spoon. This way the hostess carries everything safely to the guests, and between servings the Tacna stands next to the Slava candle. It is also a beautiful gift for a Slava.
