Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki is one of the best-known and most revered saints in the Serbian Orthodox and Orthodox Church. As a brave martyr of Christ and defender of the faith, he stands for courage, steadfastness, and unwavering loyalty to God. The icon shows him on horseback fighting evil – a powerful symbol of the victory of faith over temptation, injustice, and fear. For centuries, Saint Demetrius has been venerated as a patron saint and is an important intercessor in prayer for many Orthodox families.
This icon is part of the exclusive LAR Fine Silver Collection and combines traditional Orthodox iconography with high-quality craftsmanship. The artistically designed icon image is refined with 999° fine silver and applied using modern PVD technology. Fine color accents give the motif particular depth and expressiveness. A special anti-oxidation treatment permanently protects the silver surface from tarnishing. The slim frame made of real wood ensures an elegant and timeless look that effectively highlights the holy image.
This icon is suitable for a personal prayer corner, as a spiritual gift for Slava, baptism, wedding, or name day, as well as for all believers who have a special connection to Saint Demetrius.
