Mileševac Glass Icon Beli Anđeo (White Angel) – Serbian Orthodox Icon 51 × 39 cm

The glass icon Beli Anđeo (White Angel) depicts one of the most famous and significant motifs in Serbian Orthodox art. The depiction is based on the famous medieval fresco in the Mileševa Monastery in Serbia and shows an angel at the tomb of Christ, pointing to the empty tomb as a sign of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The original fresco was created in the 13th century and is one of the most important works of Serbian medieval fresco painting. Beli Anđeo represents the message of resurrection, hope, and the triumph of life over death, thus holding special significance within the Orthodox tradition.

This special glass icon is crafted by Mileševac in Serbia, with whom Svetazvezda collaborates directly. Mileševac emerged from the desire to combine Orthodox tradition, art, and contemporary craftsmanship and to create icons that can find a permanent place in a family's home for generations.

The depiction of Beli Anđeo is applied to glass using UV direct printing. The transparent background around the depiction creates a special spatial effect, allowing the motif to be showcased differently depending on the light and surroundings. The glass is surrounded by a solid wood frame, which is available in various finishes.

For Mileševac, an icon is not just a decorative object. It is meant to accompany believers in prayer and become a visible part of Orthodox faith and family life. Inspired by medieval frescoes, Serbian monasteries, and traditional Orthodox art, their icons are created with special attention to quality, durability, and respect for Orthodox tradition.

With its size of 51 × 39 cm, the glass icon is particularly suitable for a central place in the home or in a prayer corner. It is also a special gift for baptism, wedding, Slava, moving into a new home, or other significant family and church occasions.
