Modlice for slavski kolač – 12-piece set Sveti Vasilije Veliki

Recipe and guide: how to make the decorations for your slavski kolač

This modlice set in honour of the holy hierarch and Church Father Sveti Vasilije Veliki stands for wisdom, spiritual depth and the firm order of the Orthodox faith. As one of the great teachers of the Church and author of the Divine Liturgy, Sveti Vasilije Veliki holds a central place in the Serbian Orthodox tradition. This set was created to decorate the slavski kolač and other festive pastries with signs of blessing, church order and living faith – as is customary for the celebration of the Slava Sveti Vasilije Veliki.

The set comprises 12 finely detailed modlice, including the central motif of Sveti Vasilije Veliki in a gold-coloured frame, accompanied by traditional Christian symbols such as cross, doves, scroll, bunch of grapes, ears of wheat, flower, barrel and the inscriptions Срећна Слава and ИС ХС НИ КА.
Thanks to the included stand, the icon modlica can also be placed separately on the festive table, becoming a visible sign of church teaching, spiritual steadfastness and Serbian Orthodox tradition.

Made of food-safe plastic, the modlice are robust, durable and easy to clean. Each modlica leaves clear, precise imprints in the dough, while the integrated dough cutter allows the motifs to be cut out cleanly and supports the careful preparation of the Slava.
