Pojte mu, Srbi (Sing to Him, Serbs) – Children's Poems about Sveti Sava

Pojte mu, Srbi (Sing to Him, Serbs) – A Collection of Poems for Children about Saint Sava

Saint Sava, the first Serbian archbishop and founder of the Serbian educational system, is the saint whom children in the Serbian Orthodox tradition learn about first. This collection of poems (cvetnik) takes its title from the well-known hymn to Saint Sava and gathers verses by Serbian poets for children – about his life, his goodness, and his love for his people.

The hardcover edition from the children's book publisher Pčelica from Čačak comprises 86 pages in Serbian (Cyrillic script). Its convenient format is suitable for reading aloud, for jointly learning verses, and for first independent reading experiences in Cyrillic script.

A gift for children on Savindan (January 27th), for baptism, or for Slava – and a treasure trove for recitations at Svetosavske celebrations in communities and schools.
