Endowments – Churches and Monasteries

Serbian Orthodox monasteries and churches are far more than historical buildings. For centuries, they have been places of prayer and spiritual life, preserving at the same time a significant part of the history, culture, and identity of the Serbian people. Many of them were founded as Zadužbine – spiritual endowments by Serbian rulers and important figures who expressed their faith through the construction of churches and monasteries.

The children's and youth book "Задужбине – цркве и манастири" (Zadužbine – churches and monasteries) introduces young readers to this special world.
