Collection: Saint Luke

Saint Luke (Sveti Luka) is an apostle, evangelist, and the author of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. As a learned physician and companion of the Apostle Paul, he proclaimed the word of God far beyond the borders of his homeland. According to tradition, he was the first to paint an icon of the Most Holy Theotokos – which is why he is venerated as the patron saint of icon painters, physicians, and artists.

His feast day, Lučindan, is celebrated on October 31st and is one of the widespread autumn Slavas among the Serbian people. Families who honor Saint Luke as their patron saint celebrate this day with a slavski kolač, a candle, and prayer, passing the tradition down from generation to generation.

This collection brings together everything associated with the veneration of Saint Luke – for faith at home, for the Slava, and as a gift for families celebrating Lučindan.
